Find A Bengal Kitten

purebred Bengal 12 weeks

If you're a cat enthusiast with a penchant for the Bengal you may have to do a little legwork to find just the right one. Fortunately there are many Bengal rescue organizations across the country standing ready to help you find just the right Bengal for you. The Bengal originated as a man-made hybrid cross between a domestic cat and an Asian leopard cat. Since the Cat Fanciers Association does not recognize hybrids, the Bengal is not a recognized CFA breed.

Instructions

1. Perform a search on the Internet using the keywords "bengal cats" in your area. There is a variety of Bengal cat rescue organizations where you can find Bengals in need of adoption. You will need to fill out an adoption application, submit to a background check and home visit and obtain references from your veterinarian and/or friends.

2. Check with Petfinder (Petfinder.org). Once the page loads, go to the upper left, side corner and click on "cat" and the "bengal" under breed. You will then have to put your zip code in and click on the "search" button. Once on the list page, you will see a list of rescue organizations that currently have bengals for adoption. Contact the organizations directly.

3. Visit your local shelter or animal care and control facility. They may have bengals for adoption. If they currently do not have any bengals for adoption, ask to have your name put on a waiting list. They will call you when a bengal cat enters the shelter.
