Donate Coupons

Instead of throwing out coupons you can't use, consider donating them. When you donate coupons, you help other individuals to save money on products they were already going to purchase. This is an easy way to help those in need without having to spend any money to do so.

Instructions

1. Clip your coupons. Remove all the coupons from the paper and from any direct mailings you receive. To donate the coupons, be sure they are dated with at least two weeks before they expire since it may take time to get them to the users.

2. Determine which charity, organization or person you would like to donate to. Local churches and frugal groups are likely to take them. You can also start a group within your city to exchange coupons. Another option is to donate them to needy families in your area.

3. Consider donating pet food and accessory coupons to local humane shelters and especially pet rescue centers. Many of these locations are desperate for pet food at a low cost and may be able to use them. If not, they may be able to give the coupons to those that need them to care for animals.

4. Donate coupons to the military. Overseas military can use expired coupons for any products or services they need. US military bases have commissionaires will take expired coupons overseas. Find a local military service person who is stationed overseas to donate the coupons to. There are also groups online that collect these to send to those overseas.

5. Look for groups online that collect and distribute coupons that you donate. Message boards, frugal websites and even local coupon exchanges are a fantastic place not only to donate the coupons you can't use, but to pick up a few you may be able to use.
