Use Clear Comfort Test Strips

Clear Comfort is a chlorine-free pool care system. Four products are provided to kill bacteria, prevent algae growth, keep water clear and clean the pool filter. Most dip-and-read test strips change colors after measuring the levels of pH, alkalinity and chlorine. Because Clear Comfort does not use chlorine, the test strips measure the level of sanitizer in the water instead, along with pH and alkalinity. The water should be tested at least once a week and after heavy rain. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

Clear Comfort 3-Way Test Strips

1. Remove one Clear Comfort 3-Way test strip from the bottle. Replace the bottle cap tightly.

2. Dip the test strip into the water for two seconds and then remove it. Hold the test strip level with the pad side up for 30 seconds.

3. Compare the colors on the 3-way strip to the color charts on the test strip bottle to find the levels for pH and alkalinity. The pH should read between 7.2 and 7.8, and alkalinity between 125 and 150 ppm.

4. Dip the test strip once more and move it back and forth in the water for 30 seconds. Remove the strip and compare the sanitizer (biguanide) color to the color on the test strip bottle. The sanitizer level should be between 30 and 50 ppm.

Clear Comfort Clarifier Test Strips

5. Remove one Clear Comfort Clarifier Test Strip from the bottle. Replace the bottle top tightly.

6. Dip the test strip into the pool water for one second and then take it out. Shake off any excess water and hold the strip level with the pad side up for 60 seconds.

7. Compare the color on the test strip with the diagram on the bottle. The clarifier level should fall between 20 and 60 ppm.
