The Animal Compassion Network, or ACN, is a non-profit organization located in Asheville, NC founded in 1997. With several outfits in North Carolina, the ACN rescues dogs and cats who are homeless and in need of good homes. The non-profit is run by volunteers who help out with the pet adoptions, with fostering pets and taking care of the animals. Because the ACN is a non-profit, it welcomes monetary donations as well as supplies.
Instructions
1. Give a one-time donation. Go to AnimalCompassionNetwork.org and type in how much you would like to donate and click "Add to Cart" which will bring you to a new window with a payment form. Fill out the form, including your credit card information and click "Review Order" to make sure everything is correct before finally submitting the donation.
2. Join the Constant Companion monthly giving program. On the AnimalCompassionNetwork.org website, click on a denomination you would like to donate monthly. Fill out the information necessary and review your order before submitting. The initial donation amount will be taken out of your account, followed by the that same denomination being taken out of your account every month.
3. Donate to the Betty Fund to help specifically with spay and neuter expenses done by ACN. Type in an amount and click "Add to Cart" before filling out the necessary payment and customer information. Review the information before submitting it.
4. Sponsor a pet. The cost is $100, as of May 2011, and you can choose a cat or dog. This donation will cover transfer fees and adoption preparations for one specific dog or cat who is homeless. Click "Add to Cart" and follow the rest of the checkout procedures.
5. Mail a monetary donation to the ACN. Make the check payable to Animal Compassion Network and mail it to: 803 Fairview St. Asheville, NC 28803.
6. Drop off supplies like food or toys to the ACN at the address listed in Step 5. Look at the ACN's wish list, which is on their website.
