Make A Pitbull Costume

With their pointy ears and muscular bodies, pit bulls are one of the most recognizable dog breeds out there. While pit bulls can have a bad reputation for being aggressive, they are also known to be an extremely sweet breed of dog. Whatever your feelings about pit bulls, making a costume that looks like a pit bull is not difficult.

Instructions

1. Choose a white sweatsuit that you will use as the base of your pit bull costume.

2. Paint black spots all over the front of the sweatsuit using fabric paint. This will create the look of a black and white spotted pit bull. Allow the paint to dry completely.

3. Turn the sweatsuit over and apply black fabric paint spots to the back of it as well. Allow the paint to completely dry.

4. Wear a collar with the sweatsuit. Choose a large dog collar from a pet store if it will fit around your neck. If you can't find one large enough, make a collar out of a child's belt.

5. Find a picture online of a black and white spotted pit bull. Choose a picture in which the pit bull is looking at the camera head on because you will be using the picture as a mask for your costume.

6. Print the picture out and make a copy of it. Enlarge the image until it is large enough to fit over your face. Cut out the image so that you are left only with the pit bull's face and ears.

7. Place the picture over a piece of cardboard and trace around it. Cut out the cardboard so that it is exactly the same shape as the pit bull face picture. Glue the picture onto the piece of cardboard.

8. Use a scalpel or sharp knife to carefully cut out eye holes and a mouth hole over the pit bull's eyes and mouth. Make sure that they line up with your eyes.

9. Punch a hole on either side of the pit bull's face. Thread an elastic band through the holes and tie the band in knots to secure it. Wear the mask over your face to complete the costume.
