Change Contact Information for an Avid Microchip
An American Veterinary Identification Devices (AVID) microchip is an electronic tracking device for your dog, cat or other pet. The microchip, inserted under your pet's skin, contains a unique identification number that is entered into the PETtrac database, AVID's system for tracking your pet if it is lost or stolen. AVID microchips are inexpensive, permanent and contain no power supply or moving parts to wear out. If you move or have other changes in your contact information, you need to get in touch with AVID and update your file with the company.
Instructions
1. Call (800) 336-2843--AVID's customer service number. The AVID customer service department is open 24 hours.
2. Press "5" on your telephone's keypad to speak with a customer service representative about updating your contact information.
3. Give the Avid customer service representative your new contact information.
4. Record any confirmation numbers or other information the AVID customer service representative gives you for future reference.
