Training a service dog is a huge undertaking. Trainers must carefully select potential service dogs for the proper temperament, then they must systematically train the dogs for the tasks they will be performing. Many service dog training programs offer fully trained adult dogs. Other programs will teach you train your own dog for service work.

Teammates Training Center
Teammates Training Center offers trained mobility and hearing dogs. They also will help handlers train their own dogs. They are located in North Carolina but provide services nationally. TTC works with adults and will also work with children based on maturity level.

Leader Dogs for the Blind trains guide dogs for people with visual diabilities. They provide fully trained dogs and offer a handler training course. They work with all 50 states.
