Find Homes For Stray Kittens

So your cat has had kittens, or you've noticed a few young strays in your neighborhood. You wish you could take them all in, but you can't. Here are a few options to consider for finding that cute little fur ball a good loving home!

Instructions

1. Place an ad in the paper. Some local newspapers let you place ads for free for a limited time and with a strict word count. Or if the ad isn't free, normally it doesn't cost much. National papers such as the American Classifieds place ads for very little cost. You can even opt to put your ad online.

2. Put up flyers in your neighborhood and at your local pet store. If possible, add a picture of the kittens on the flyer.

3. Take the kittens to the local humane society. Ask first if the kittens will be put to sleep. Some centers keep animals for only a few hours or days before the animal is no longer up for adoption. Some keep the animals until they are adopted. Also, some centers may charge you for dropping off animals or picking up strays. Call first.

4. Ask around at your job or at your kids' school. You'll be surprised who might be looking for a kitten.

5. Find an adoption center or pet store that adopts pets. Grab your phone book and give them a call!
