The Sims Unleashed Faq

The Sims Unleashed FAQ

The Sims® Unleashed is an expansion pack for The Sims game, which is available for PC and Macintosh. This expansion adds pets to the Sims' world, as well as gardening capabilities.

Pet Types

In The Sims Unleashed, the player can have a cat, dog, bird, turtle, iguana or fish as a pet. Only cats and dogs, however, become official family members with an icon and control panel to display their needs.

Pet Needs

Similar to the Sims, cats and dogs have meters in the control panel on the bottom of the screen that indicate when they are hungry, need to go to the bathroom, need a bath or need to sleep. The player must keep the meters in the green to keep the pet happy, or the pet might run away from home.

Socializing

Talking to pets and playing with pets boosts their social meters the same way talking to people does. Pets also need interaction with Sims or other pets to stay happy.

Acquiring a Pet

Cats and dogs can be adopted from the pet center in Old Town. Other pets can be picked up at the pet shop in Old Town. Cats and dogs can breed to produce puppies and kittens to add to Sim families.

Pet Stuff

Like Sims, pets need their own stuff--food bowls, beds and cages. In The Sims Unleashed, a new category has been added to the Buy Mode screen: players can purchase objects just for pets.

Gardening

Gardening plots are available in the Build Mode screen, and Sims can purchase seeds at the Old Town market. Sims can grow food to eat or sell their produce to earn money, which is necessary to buy additional objects in the game.
