Make A White Dog Whiter

Get your white dog ready for show.

A dog that has a white coat such as the West Highland White Terrier, Great Pyrenees and Maltese can be somewhat high maintenance when it comes to grooming. Keeping a white dog's coat white and bright is a daunting process to many owners and handlers. With some time and some tips, however, your white dog will look clean and pristine.

Instructions

1. Shampoo your dog with the whitening shampoo, being careful to avoid getting it in its eyes or ears. Be sure to rinse out all of the residual soap.

2. Dry the dog. You can towel dry your dog or use a low heat setting on a hair dryer.

3. Apply cornstarch or white grooming powder on the dog. Put it on your hands and then rub or brush into the coat. Be sure to brush any excess off the dog. Apply this everywhere but on the muzzle and around the eyes of the dog.

4. A white coat can light up a room.

Apply the grooming chalk carefully around the muzzle, tips of the ears and near the eyes.

5. Apply a white tear stick close to the eyes to cover eye stains if needed. Be careful to not get the tear stick product in the dog's eyes.
