Adopt A Monkey

Monkeys are a large group of primates that include all primates that are not human, ape or prosimian. Many conservation societies run an adopt-a-monkey program, where you can virtually adopt a monkey.

Instructions

Adopt a Monkey

1. Go to the website of a conservation society that offers an adopt-a-monkey program. One example is the World Animal Foundation. Many societies offer a virtual adopt-a-monkey program. Adopt-a-monkey programs allow individuals to donate money to protecting the habitats of monkeys. Such a donation goes toward helping monkeys like the squirrel monkeys, an endangered species living in northern South America. Other endangered monkeys helped include the langur and the Guizhou Golen Snub-nosed monkey.

2. Click on the Adopt a Monkey button. This is about halfway down the main homepage of the World Animal Foundation website. At the bottom of the next page you will find a button labeled Add to Cart. Click on that button.

3. Look for Quick Checkout at the top of the page in a tan border. On the next page it will require you to fill in personal information.

4. Fill in the form. This registers you as a user on their site. On the next page it will ask you to confirm your information and for the shipping method you desire for your order. On the next page it will ask you for information if this is a gift being sent to someone else. Finally on the next page you will enter your credit card information and click on Purchase at the bottom of the page. After you have completed all of this, your adopt-a-monkey kit will be sent in the mail to you via the type of shipping you choose.

5. Open your adopt-a-monkey kit when it arrives and read about your monkey. The information in the package will tell you about your species of monkey, its habitat, temperament, and diet. Virtually adopting a monkey is a great way to support monkey conservation.
