Prepare A 1 10 Bleach Solution For Animal Shelters

Use a 1:10 bleach solution in your animal shelter to prevent the spread of germs and viruses.

Keeping animal shelters clean and disinfected is essential to ensure the health of animals who live there and all who work at or visit the shelter. Creating a cleaning protocol is important for not only cages, runs and examination or visiting areas, but for every surface in the shelter to prevent the inadvertent spread of germs as people and animals move about the shelter. A key component in the disinfecting process is a 1:10 bleach solution used after cleaning to kill worm larvae and prevent the spread of viruses.

Instructions

1. Prepare the main container. To make measuring easier and to ensure you mix the 1:10 bleach solution properly, divide the container into 10 parts and mark each increment on the side of the large container with pen or piece of tape.

2. Fill the large container with water up to the ninth measurement mark.

3. Pour in chlorine bleach to fill the container to the top mark.

4. Divide the 1:10 bleach solution among smaller containers.
