Write A Contract Of Sale

Use Microsoft Word to Type a Contract of Sale


A contract of sale should be provided for any service, merchandise or property that is bought, sold or traded for an item of equal value. Commonly used by businesses and private car dealers, a contract of sale is easy to create and can be written by anyone to authorize a sale. Before you create a contract of sale, there are several key requirements that must be named in order for the contract of sale to be an effective document for both the buyer and the seller.


Instructions


1. Center in bold text the heading, "Contract of Sale."


2. Align the next line of text against the right margin and then type, "Customer name." Provide a response line.


3. Align the next line of text against the right margin and then type, "Address." Provide a response line.


4. Align the next line of text against the right margin and then type, "Phone number." Provide a response line.


5. Align the next line of text against the right margin and then type, "Contractor name." Provide a response line.


6. Align the next line of text against the right margin and then type, "Address." Provide a response line.


7. Align the next line of text against the right margin and then type, "Phone number." Provide a response line.


8. Create a new indented heading in bold text that reads, "The Job" or "Services." In this section answer the following questions: For contract work, answer if sub-contractors will be used and outline the contract work, service or merchandise that will be allowed under the terms of the contract of sale. Describe the materials that will be used for contract work or the item(s) that will be sold. Provide the color, size, weight, height and model or product type for merchandise and other items, including vehicles and electronics.


9. Provide the date of sale, including the pick-up date if the item will be picked up after the transaction is complete. For services, write the service start and end dates.


10. Create a new indented heading in bold text that reads, "The Price." Detail the price that will be paid, how payment(s) will be made and all credit and deposit information, if applicable.


11. Create a new indented heading in bold text that reads, "Other Conditions." Outline the cancellation rights of the consumer and contractor, including special conditions and restrictions.


12. Create a signature line for all parties and have each person named on the contract sign, print and date the contract to validate it.
