File A Complaint With The California Highway Patrol

Citizens may file complaints with the California Highway Patrol.


The California Highway Patrol provides a mechanism for citizens of the state to file complaints and concerns regarding its officers. Complaints lodged with the California Highway Patrol are evaluated impartially. When you file a complaint, you will receive a response regarding the CHP's findings. Following the proper procedure to file a complaint maximizes your chances of being acknowledged.


Instructions


1. Access the California Highway Patrol "Citizens' Complaint Procedures" website. You can complete the complaint form online or print and mail the form.


2. Print the form if that's your choice for filing. Complete it and submit the form to your local CHP office or mail it to the Office of Investigations, 601 North 7th Street, P.O. Box 942898, Sacramento, CA 94298.


3. Click on the link to complete and submit the online form if you prefer that method of submission.
