Neopet
A pet can feel like a member of the family, just like your parents or brothers and sisters. But if you can't have a real pet living with you it doesn't mean you can't have a virtual pet. Here's a step by step guide on create your own virtual pet at one of the largest virtual pet sites: Neopets.
Instructions
1. Go to the Neopets site (see Resources below). Click on the banner that says "Sign Up!" Neopets is free for all so don't worry about having to pay. Once you've clicked on the link, it will ask for a username and password. Fill out your username and check for availability. After you've selected a username that is not already taken, create your password and check the box that you agree to the Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy. Then click "Next."
2. Enter your first name, gender, birthday, state, and zip code. You do not have to enter your city if you do not want to. Don't lie about your birthday as this will be used if you forget your password. Without it you can't retrieve your password, and will be locked out of your account permanently. After you're finished, click "Next."
3. Fill in your email address. This will also be used if you forget your password. On your email account, make sure emails from support@neopets.com are not being sent to your Spam folder. Enter your real email address because this is where lost passwords will be sent. Click "Next."
4. Choose your very own virtual pet. You can pick the type of animal it is, its gender and color, and even give it a name. You can also influence parts of its personality. The options are virtually unending. After you've created your Neopet, you're ready to go explore. The site is pretty self-explanatory, and as you roam around you'll find all kinds of shops, games, and adventures for your pet to go on.
