Golden doodles are a cross breed, half golden and half poodle.
A golden doodle is a mix between a golden retriever and poodle. This breed originating in the early 1990s. Also referred to as golden poos, goldie poos and groodles, they are an extremely popular breed in North America. Before you adopt or buy a dog it is smart to do some research and get an idea of whether or not you will be able to offer it the kind of home that will best suit it.
Temperament
Golden doodles have a laid back temperament.
Golden doodles make for terrific family dogs. Not only are they friendly, they are also very obedient, intelligent, easy to train, affectionate, and genuinely want to please their owners. Golden doodles are social puppies and remain social as they grow up. They are everybody's friend, from dog to human, with a very easy disposition. It is important when getting a golden doodle puppy that it gets a lot of interaction with people and dogs, as it is more likely to cause trouble if it is kept alone.
Training
The less time they spend alone, the better.
Golden doodles have a special love of learning. Any dog with a love of learning has a higher percentage of being easier to train than breeds that don't. Because they like to be around people and animals so much, enrolling them in a puppy class where they are with other dogs would make their training more enjoyable for them and easier for you.
Living Environment
Dog parks are a great place to take your golden doodle.
Golden doodles require a moderate amount of exercise. That said, they can live happily in a city environment or in the country. As long as they are getting walked, taken to the dog park, and possibly some sort of puppy play group they will be content.
Grooming
The way your dog is groomed is up to you.
Golden doodles require grooming every few weeks. Their coat usually takes after either the poodle in them or the golden, but they typically don't need much more than a brushing. Depending on your taste you could have them groomed regularly, which could be multiple times a year, or you could take care of it yourself when you felt like it.
