Barkwells, A Pet-Friendly Mountain Retreat, is located 12 minutes from Brevard and 20 minutes from the Biltmore Estate. It offers guests two-to-6-person luxury cabins enclosed by eight acres of fencing to ensure dog safety. Dogs may enjoy pond swimming and romping either privately or with other dogs during their stay. Barkwells provides cabins with doggie doors, dog dishes, dog beds and dog wash areas complete with dog towels. Each cabin also has a gated covered porch area complete with rockers or gliders. Cabins have full kitchens, gas fireplaces, washer/dryers and stocked linens. Equestrian enthusiasts may board their horses next door with Cross Creek Stables. A $100.00 refundable charge is collected for one to two dogs, with an additional $50.00 charge for three or more dogs. Refund checks will be mailed after cabins have been checked for damage.

Ash Grove Mountain Cabins & Camping
Ash Grove Mountain Cabins has a special one-bedroom Dogwood Cabin for visitors with dogs. Pet fees (dogs only), are $10.00 per night or $60.00 per week. A health report showing proof of current vaccinations and flea control must be presented upon arrival. Dogs cannot be left unattended and must be leashed at all times. Dog owners must clean up their animals' excrement. Dogwood Cabin offers a fully stocked kitchen, full bathroom, heat, air conditioning, satellite TV, screened porch with swing, and picnic area complete with a charcoal grill. Linens and towels are provided and nearby activities include hiking, biking, golf and fishing.

Rushing Water Cabins
Rushing Water Cabins will accommodate dogs over the age of 18 months if they are housebroken, free of fleas and friendly. Guests must bring their own dog towels, and crates are recommended. Dogs must be leashed and not left unattended. Rushing Water Cabins retains the right to ask unruly dogs to leave with no refunds. Pet fees are $25.00 per night, and a refundable deposit of $100.00 is required. Refunds will be returned if lodgings remain intact. The rustic cabins can host two to seven persons and offer full kitchens, bathrooms, fireplaces, washer/dryer units, Internet access, and air conditioning and are open year round.
