Make A Flyer

Starting a business is expensive and one of the biggest costs is advertising. You need to find ways to advertise without it involving a lot of money. Flyers are one way to do it. You can make the flyers and deliver them yourself, or you may want to hire one of the kids in the neighborhood to deliver them at a nominal fee.

Instructions

1. Select paper for your flyers, which you can find at any office supply store, such as Office Max or Staples. Decide on a color, preferably something that will stand out so people will remember the flyer.

2. Decide on a date for your opening before you send the flyers out. Include this date on the flyer and if you're offering specials for the opening day or for the first week of your opening include these details, as well. Coupons are a great way to get people's attention.

3. Prepare all the information. Start with an interesting title that will capture people's attention. Alternatively, you can have the coupon at the top to grab people's interest. Add an incentive for keeping the flyer, such as a 10% discount for the first 100 people who come in with the flyer.

4. Deliver the flyers in plenty of time for your grand opening, but not too far in advance that people forget about it. A week in advance should be plenty of notice.

5. Collect the flyers from people who bring it in with them. If they use it for a discount, you can write it off as a business expense. Additionally, it lets you know how well the promotion did by the number of people it drew to your store.
